Mix a half cup of vinegar and a quart of water and put it on the stain, next take cloth towels and place them over the stain with something heavy.

If you don’t teach them, or don’t provide them a private place where they can take care of it, then it will end up in the most undesirable places; for example, your carpet, or your favorite chair.
